John Bearden Dead
John Bearden, aged 85, died at the home of his son, Harvey Bearden, in Whiteoak township Tuesday night, after a short illness. He suffered a broken hip when he fell about a week ago, and owing to his advanced years, and enfeebled condition he failed to rally but continued to grow weaker.
He is survived by three sons, Harvey, Ed and Zonnie Bearden; and three daughters, Mrs. J.J. Taylor, Mrs. Laura Lutrell and Mrs. John Lutrell.

*Harvey J. Bearden, Native of County, Dies at Brinkley
Harvey J. Bearden, aged 72, of Brinkley, formerly of Cleveland county, died Wednseday at a Brinkley hospital. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Bearden was a native of Cleveland county, the son of the late John and Jane Scroggins Bearden. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nellie May Green Bearden; three sons, Olen Bearden and Billy D. Bearden of Pine Bluff and James H. Bearden; a daughter Mrs. Loda Vee Nickelson of Brinkley; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Lutrell and Mrs. Mattie O. Lutrell, both of Pine Bluff; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Buie Funeral Home chapel here by James Moore of Brinkley. Burial was at the Roselawn Memorial Garden, near Pine Bluff.

Ed Bearden, 65 Former County Resident, Succumbs
Ed Bearden, aged 65, a native of this county, died Friday at a hopsital in Ashville, N.C. He was a retired lumberman and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Mr. Bearden for a number of years made his home in the "Y" community.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James Craig of San Leandro, Calif; a brother, Harvey Bearden of Pine Bluff, and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Lutrell of Pine Bluff and Mrs. Mattie Lutrell of Sulphur Springs.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilson cemetery in the "Y" community, conducted by the Rev. Dale Gentry.

Jaggars having been previously privately appointed to talk to Sisters Mary and Laura Bearden Who had been gullty of unchristian conduct in the act of dancing Reported that they talked to the offening Sisters and Sister Mary was sory for what she had done and promised to do better in the future and the church to forgive her which confession was on motion received as satisfactory by the session In the case of Sister Laura who was non repentant it was thought best to admonish her and she was given further time to consider and pray over the matter. Long Illness Fatal to R.A. Bearden of Kingsland
R.A. Bearden, aged 52, of Kingsland died at his home there late Tuesday afternoon after a long illness.
Mr. Bearden was born at Kingsland and had always made his home in the county.
Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Dorthy Crain of Kingsland, Mrs. Willie Wilson and Mrs. Mary Ashcraft of near Rison; four step-daughters, Mrs. Lela Norman, Mrs. Lucille Granderson of Benton, and Misses Geraldine and Jaunice Pierce of Kinglsand, a step-son, Dail Pierce of Hosston, La; three sisters, Mrs. Manie Taylor of near Rison, Mrs. Laura Lutrell of Kedron, Mrs. Ophelia Lutrell of Pine Buff, two brothers, Edgar and Harvey Bearden of near Rison, and four grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete this morning. Rufus T. Buie Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
